PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Copper sulfate (CuSO4), is an inorganic compound widely used in industrial production and scientific research. The compound commonly exists as copper sulfate pentahydrate (CuSO4-5H2O) as blue crystals, commonly known as blue alum. The substance loses its water of crystallization under dry conditions and changes to anhydrous copper sulfate in the form of a white or off-white powder. Copper sulfate is usually prepared by the reaction of concentrated sulfuric acid and copper, or it can be obtained by treating a mixture of copper-bearing ores with sulfuric acid.

Industrially, copper sulfate is an important chemical raw material widely used in pesticides, plant and animal growth regulators, feed additives, and as a medium in the electroplating and dyeing industries. It also plays a role in water treatment for sterilization, algae control, and corrosion protection. Copper sulfate is both a fertilizer and a commonly used fungicide. Bordeaux solution, copper soap solution, and ammonium copper preparations, are made by preparing copper sulfate with lime milk, soap, and ammonium bicarbonate.

Copper sulfate is azure or slightly yellow granular crystals, aqueous solution is acidic, is a protective inorganic fungicide, relatively safe for humans and animals. Chemical formula CuSO4, generally for the pentahydrate CuSO4-5H2O, commonly known as bile alum; blue rhombohedral crystals; density 2.284 g/cm3. Copper sulfate is an important raw material for the preparation of other copper compounds. Mixed with milk of lime can be obtained "Bordeaux" solution, used as insecticide. Copper sulfate is also the electrolytic solution for electrolytic refining of copper.

PRODUCT USAGE

(1) Used in inorganic industry to manufacture other feeding salts such as cuprous chloride, copper chloride, copper pyrophosphate, cuprous oxide, copper acetate, copper carbonate and so on.

(2) Dyes and pigments industry for the manufacture of copper-containing single azo dyes such as reactive blue, reactive violet.

(3) Used as catalyst for synthesizing spices and dye intermediates in the organic industry, and as a polymerization inhibitor for methyl methacrylate.

(4) Used as a fungicide in the production of anti-fouling paint for ship bottoms in the paint industry. It is used as the main salt of full bright acid copper plating and copper ion additive in electroplating industry.

(5) Used in printing and dyeing industry as mordant and auxiliary oxygen agent for fine dyed cloth.

(6) Used as fungicide in agriculture.

(7) Used as the main raw material of trace element copper in feed additives in farming industry.

(8) Food-grade copper sulfate can be used as chelating agent and clarifying agent in the production process of leather eggs and wine.

(9) Biology used to configure the identification of reducing sugar Ferrin reagent and identification of protein bioconjugate reagent B liquid, but usually ready to use.
