Physicochemical properties of copper sulfate pentahydrate is transparent dark blue crystals or powder, solubility in water at 0 ℃ is 316 g / l, insoluble in ethanol, almost insoluble in most other organic solvents. In glycerol is gem green, slowly weathering in the air, heating to lose two molecules of water of crystallisation (30 ℃), at 110 ℃ water loss into white hydrate (CuSO4 × H2O). It is yellow or green when it contains many impurities and has no smell. This product is very corrosive to iron. Copper sulphate is both a fertiliser and a commonly used fungicide. Bordeaux liquid, copper soap liquid, copper ammonium preparations, is made of copper sulfate with quicklime, soap, ammonium bicarbonate preparation.
