PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Dimethyl sulfoxide is an extremely important nonprotonic polar solvent that is soluble in both water and organic solvents. It is widely used as a solvent and reaction reagent with high selective extraction capacity. Dimethyl sulfoxide itself has anti-inflammatory and analgesic, diuretic, sedative and other effects, in the pharmaceutical industry can be directly used as raw materials and carriers of certain drugs. It has the name of "universal medicine", and is often added to drugs as the active component of pain medication.

 

PRODUCT USAGE

1It is used as solvent for aromatics extraction, resin and dyestuff reaction medium, acrylic polymerization and silk extraction.

2It can be used as organic solvent, reaction medium and intermediate of organic synthesis. Extremely wide use. This product has high selective extraction capacity, used as acrylic resin and polysulfone ester polymerization and condensation solvent, polyacrylonitrile and acetic acid fiber polymerization and extraction solvent, alkane and aromatic separation of extraction solvents, used for aromatic hydrocarbons, butadiene extraction, acrylic spinning, plastics solvents and organic synthesis of dyes, pharmaceuticals and other industrial reaction medium. In medicine, dimethyl sulfoxide has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, the skin has a strong penetration, and thus can dissolve certain drugs, so that such drugs to the human body to penetrate so as to achieve therapeutic purposes. The use of dimethyl sulfoxide carrier characteristics, can also be used as a pesticide additives. In some pesticides add a small amount of dimethyl sulfoxide, pesticide penetration into the plant to improve efficacy. Dimethyl sulfoxide can make the skin keratinocyte protein denaturation; can destroy the orderly arrangement of intercellular lipids in the stratum corneum; can be removed from the stratum corneum lipids, lipoproteins, to enhance the penetration of drugs, but the use of high concentrations of dimethyl sulfoxide, the skin will produce erythema, blisters, and irreversible damage, the United States has been banned. Commonly used concentration of 30% -50%.

5, antifreeze. The freezing point of pure dimethyl sulfoxide is 18.45 , containing 40 % of water dimethyl sulfoxide -60 does not freeze, and dimethyl sulfoxide and water, snow mixing exothermic. Therefore, it is convenient to make automobile antifreeze, brake fluid and hydraulic fluid components. Glycol antifreeze in more than -40 low temperature is not applicable, and lower than the boiling point of dimethyl sulfoxide, toxic, easy to produce gas resistance. Dimethyl sulfoxide antifreeze is used in automobiles and combat vehicles in the northern cold regions, and can be replenished at any time with snow instead of water. Dimethyl sulfoxide is also used for de-icing agents, paints, various latex antifreeze, gasoline, aviation coal antifreeze, bone marrow, blood, organ cryopreservation antifreeze.

SolubilityIt can be mixed with water in any proportion and can dissolve general organic solvents except petroleum ether. It can absorb 30% (by weight) of hydrogen  chloride, 30%  (by weight) of nitrogen dioxide and 65% (by weight) of sulfur dioxide at 20°C. It is insoluble in aliphatic hydrocarbon compounds except  acetylene. Solubility for many compounds. Soluble in water, ethylene glycol,  acetone, benzene, hydrocarbon chlorides, glycol esters and so on.
