PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Berberine hydrogen sulfate, also called berberine, is a quaternary ammonium alkaloid isolated from the traditional Chinese medicine Coptis chinensis. It is the main active antibacterial ingredient of Coptis chinensis. It is a yellow needle crystal with a bitter taste. It is widely distributed in the plant kingdom, and berberine is found in about 4 families and 10 genera. It was first obtained from the bark of Xanthoxylonclava in 1826 by M.-E. Chavalier and G. Peltan.

 

PRODUCT USE

Antibacterial effect: Berberine sulfate can inhibit the growth of a variety of pathogenic microorganisms, especially against Propionibacterium acnes.

Anti-inflammatory effect: Berberine sulfate can inhibit the inflammatory response and reduce pain and swelling.

Antioxidant: Berberine sulfate has antioxidant properties that protect cells from free radical damage.
