PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Aluminum chloride hydrate is a compound formed when aluminum ions form coordination bonds with chloride ions and combine with water molecules.

Aluminum chloride hydrate is a colorless crystalline or white granular solid. It is highly hygroscopic and can absorb large amounts of water and form hydrates. When exposed to air, it gradually decomposes to form hydrogen chloride gas.

Aluminum chloride hydrate is widely used in the chemical industry. It is often used as a catalyst, especially in organic synthesis reactions, such as alkylation of aromatic hydrocarbons and preparation of hydrofluoric acid. It is also used in metal surface treatment, preparation of aluminum metal, etc.

Preparation of aluminum chloride hydrate can be obtained by reacting anhydrous aluminum chloride with water.

Safety should be observed while using aluminum chloride hydrate. It is irritating and corrosive and contact with skin, eyes, etc. should be avoided. Personal protective equipment, such as lab gloves and safety glasses, should be worn during operation. Contact with combustible materials should be avoided to prevent fire or explosion. It should be kept sealed during storage and avoid contact with moisture in the air. In case of inadvertent ingestion or inhalation, seek medical attention immediately.
